"First impressions last" so the saying goes and that is very true but is that really enough to guarantee recruiting the correct person for the job? BlueTree Specific Skills use a personality profile, which allows us to understand the behaviour, motivation, attitudes and aspirations of a potential candidate.
Mapping out these characteristics of a candidate removes the risk of them just presenting a good front at interview but in reality not having the necessary strength of character to perform the job required of them.
Most recruitment processes tell you if a person CAN do the job, but very few tell you if they WILL. This is a major concern, because ability alone is not enough. The right attitude is also essential!
"Recruit the ideal person for the job. Use Facet 5 Searchlight."
As part of the Facet5 report, Searchlight works at two levels. First it asks candidates to describe their experience under defined headings - the core competencies critical for most positions. Next, Searchlight takes Facet5 data and integrates it with these examples.
For each competency an interviewer has available:
- Where does the candidate feel their strengths lie?
- How does this relate to the 'natural' strengths shown by the Facet5 profile?
"Avoid the horrors of recruiting the wrong person"
By conducting a carefully structured interview based on this information (the Facet5 system also includes guidelines for conducting situational and behavioural interviews), selection processes can be more effective and decisions can be based on accurate information.
"Define the ideal person before you begin recruiting"
Facet 5 not only identifies the profiles of the potential candidate but it can also define the characteristics of the job. From the job profile a candidate profile can be complied. This form of candidate selection gives management and Personnel departments a distinct advantage.
